Summer Camps 2015

July 20-23 Keyboard and Aural Skills for Young Pianists using Boomwhackers and Solfege

Taught by Mr. Zuno. From 9AM-12PM
Learning how to play the piano involves so much more than what is covered in the typical piano lesson. At most lessons, we don't always have time to learn chord progressions, solfege, ear training, and helpful keyboard skills. All of these skills will make you a very complete musician and will reinforce the music theory that will make so many things possible for you as a musician.

July 20-23: So, You Want to be a Composer?

Taught by Mrs. Landrum. From 9AM-12PM
Late-elementary and intermediate level piano students will love writing their own music. In this course, students will compose their own music throughout the week and will get a chance to share their ideas with others.

August 3-6: Jump Start: Introductory Musicianship for Students of all Instruments

Taught by Mrs. Landrum. From 9AM-12PM
What instrument do you play? Regardless of your answer, you can benefit from learning to see music in a fresh and new way. Students will engage rhythm, note reading, and listening skills away from their instrument, strengthening their understanding of music when these new skills are brought to their practice. For ages 8-10.

August 17-20: Jump Start: Introductory Musicianship for Students of all Instruments

Taught by Mrs. Landrum. From 9AM-12PM
Students of all instruments need a solid foundation in rhythm, listening, and notes. Students will learn these ideas through movement and games preparing them for their first (of fiftieth!) music lesson. For ages 5-7.
